INTOS starts as main contractor in the realisation of Sanofi Amsterdam

INTOS has been selected to act as the main contractor in the realization of the new Sanofi headquarters. Sanofi, a global leader in the field of healthcare and developer of new medicines and vaccines, will be housing from November all its activities and 500 employees at one location in Amsterdam, namely in the Amsterdam Health & Technology Center (AHTC).

The construction work was officially started last week. The four construction partners; Sanofi, architect Fokkema & Partners, construction director and supervisor CBRE and INTOS, will realise 5500 square meters of office space spread over 2 floors and 5 wings.

Connecting interior construction and finishing in an optimal way

"As the main contractor, we are responsible for both the completion work and the custom-made furniture within this project. Interior construction must be an essential part of our assignment to act as main contractor. That is where we add value for our customers. Because we view the completion through the eyes of an interior builder, we ensure an optimal connection of the rooms and facilities to the interior. We are proud that we are able to realise this project for Sanofi", says Diederik Hein, director of INTOS.

Current and future situation

The 500 Sanofi employees with more than 20 nationalities are now located in offices in Naarden and Gouda. The AHTC was chosen because of the creative and international nature of Amsterdam and its location opposite the Academic Medical Center (AMC).

Moving fits character Sanofipand_ahtc.jpg

Bert de Jong, Country Chair Sanofi Netherlands said about this future move in a previous press release: "That Sanofi will literally be working next to a place where people go for healthcare fits the character of our company as a partner in health care. This character is also apparent from our investments in the development of new vaccines and medicines. In the capital, which also hosts the European Medicines Agency (EMA), I expect our 500 employees to feel at home quickly."
