INTOP - Corian Workshop
Monday 30 April 2018
Since the launch of INTOP, the INTOS Development Plan, INTOS structurally organizes moments to share specialist knowledge. As a result of this, a Corian Workshop took place last week.
INTOS is, as one of a select number of interior builders in the Netherlands, a member of the DuPont Corian® Quality Network. INTOS processes Corian, an acrylate-based plastic, for various projects from check-in counters at airports to cashier deks in shops and from medical interiors to the housing of security-related products.
Sanding, glueing & bending
Because the knowledge about this material and the correct processing, lies with a number of internal experts, these experts shared the knowledge last week in a workshop for colleagues. Thirty men and women stood around the workbenches in the INTOS production area where the material was sanded and glued. Everyone also got a glimpse into the operation of the Corian oven. INTOS has the largest possible oven for this kind of material, which enables us to bend very large surfaces of Corian in any desired shape.
"It is good to share experiences and skills with each other. Despite the fact that this was just one of the workshops given internally, I really enjoyed seeing everyone enthusiastic and interested", said Bennie Piepers, practical trainer and furniture maker.
